Bloggers Quilt Festival
Amy - Park City Girl - is hosting an online Quilt Festival , and I have joined in. I'm a bit late as the festival started April 17th, but it runs until April 24th. Amy asks bloggers to show their favourite quilt. I think it's very difficult to choose, but I have decided to show you a quilt I made for one of my daughters. In 1999 she saw a quilt in "More Quick Rotary Cutter Quilts" with Pam Bono Designs. I had already told her I'd make a quilt for her, but what would she like? After looking in many books, she told me she wanted "Flying home" from the book mention above. Ok, I ordered fabrics and started. We both thought it wouldn't take too long to finish :-) Oh, how wrong we were. After some while I had to give priority to some other projects - time passed and the quilt had definitely become a UFO. Well, not to make the story too long - the quilt was finished about 5 years later. The title of the book "..........Quick ..........." didn't work for me :-) The photos don't really do he quilt justice - I wish I had taken them in a better light. The size of the quilt is about 74" x 110"
Almost 300 bloggers have joined this fun. There's so any beautiful quilts to see, so if you are interested you find the participants here.

I can see the work and the love that went into this quilt..5 yrs is a bit long since I've been quilting only one year.
A good story of a quilt.
Even though it took awhile to finish it looks like it was worth it! such a beautiful quilt!
I can see why your daughter chose that quilt. It's awesome! You did a beautiful job. Good things take their time.
Dagmar from Germany
That is so cool how you put the real geese in with the flying geese block. I love it!
Those are great geese! Good work.
I love this! I love that there are actual geese next to the quilter's flying geese! Don't feel bad about it taking 5 years - mine took 24 years! and another one 8. Of course that's not actual time worked on it - mostly sitting time - know what I mean?
I would love to visit Norway one day - my grandparents spent a lot of time there and I feel a kinship because of their love for it.
Flying geese :) very nice
A lovely quilt!
The story of an ufo is just so familiar, - of course :-)
Happy quilting!
It is really beautiful. I love the colours of the flying geese. It makes me want to get out my flying geese UFO and work on it.
It's beautiful! thanks for sharing :)
What a treat to look at your quilts...thank you so much. I am really impressed with your persistance -your follow through, and your artist vision is lovely.
Ohy, wow! THat is a fabulous quilt!
Stunning indeed.
The finished quilt is lovely. Pam Bono does not design simple quilts, and you were a brave lady to keep sewing. But Pam Bono quilts are stunning when they're finished, as is yours. Congratulations on making such a special gift.
The geese with the flying geese blocks is a very creative design. You did a great job on piecing, color selection, etc.
En nydelig quilt du viser frem her. Godt at du fikk ferdig denne her.
What a lovely, lovely quilt. I love the colors and movement.
Kjempelekkert teppe!
