No sewing

I'm afraid I haven't done much sewing the past few weeks. Practically none actually ...
Work is partially to blame, as it has been quite busy. Another reason is I have tried to do some gardening, even though the weather hasn't been that great.
Lately I have actually prefered to knit in the evenings. But that's only temporarily I'm sure :) But while I'm still in knitting mode, I'm going to make a baby sweater for a friend of one of my daughters.
I have also visited my mother in the middle of Norway. It's a 10-11 hrs long drive. One of the places I took a short break, was at the Arctic Circle. As you can see from the pictures, there was still some snow there. During summer the Arctic Circle Centre, which hosts a cafe and a souvenir store, is quite popular with tourists.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Slow week

It has been a busy week, so not much to report. But finally I have finished a stitchery I got from a friend a couple of years ago. Now I just need a frame before it goes up on the wall.Today I've also made a little progress on a table runner. Now I'm ready to applique these pieces.

Knitted UFOs

May be you remember I said I would concentrate on some smaller projects after the scrap quilt? Although I thought it would be quilting, I ended up finishing these knitting UFOs first. Photo nr.1 shows a sweat-band I started on 2 - 3 years ago. The only thing that was left, was to sew it together. Photo nr.2 shows a pair of mittens. It's made of two different types of yarn - solid dark brown and multi-coloured.
But now I feel like quilting :-)

Visiting blogs

First of all - thank you so much for all the nice words about my daughter's quilt!
When I joined the online Quilt Festival, I decided to visit the participants' blogs. I started quite optimistic, but more and more people joined. After a couple of weeks it's done :-)) I have seen sooo many beautiful quilts, and it has given me a lot of inspiration. I'm sorry I haven't left a comment to everyone, but believe me - you all have done great work! I sure will try to visit you again.
Thanks to Amy for hosting this!
